HARVEY A NEWTON

 

Harvey A. Newton, 79, of 218 Orchard Rd., Kohler, died Saturday, April 29, 1989 at the Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. He had been in failing health for the past two months.

 

He was born August 10, 1909 in Dundee, Wis, the son of the late Alvin ad Hester H. Harvey Newton. He attended Kohler Elementary School, a graduate of the first graduating class of Kohler High School in 1927 and he attended Milwaukee School of Engineering.

 

On Oct. 28, 1932 he married Anita Mueller, of Kohler at Bethany Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death May 2, 1978. He was employed at Kohler Company for over 40 years as a foreman, retiring in 1972. He is a member of the Kohler Quarter Century Club, Bethany Lutheran Church, a Bible Study Class, the church dart ball league, Kohler Company Bowling League and Kohler Baseball Team.

 

Mr. Newton is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Glen A. and Marilyn Newton, of Charlotte, North Carolina; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ralph and Janet Birschen; Frank and Lucille H. Broll, of Milwaukee, six grandchildren six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Norman Newton of Sheboygan; Elmer Newton, Tucson, Arizona; two sisters, Mrs. Naomi Kannas, of Ft. Meyers, Florida and Mrs. Palmer (Ione) Siebert, of Bonita Springs, Florida.

 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, Kohler, Rev. Kenneth L. Loehrke, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ballhorn Chapels after 5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday 9 a.m. to the time of services at the church.

 

Memorials can be made in the name of Bethany Lutheran Church Sacristy and Building Fund.
