Irving Coy Allen, Sr. Reidsville, NC, passed away June 24, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at Hollywood Cemetery on Pitt Street in Farmville, NC.
Mr. Allen was born in Pitt County, NC on August 28, 1940 to the late Ichabod Allen and Annie Pearl Vick Allen. Irving was a very kind, sweet and loving person that cared greatly for his family. He enjoyed teaching at Rockingham Community College and interacting with his students. He retired from RCC after 20 years. He will be missed by many people who knew and loved him. Mr. Allen served his country in the US Army from 1966 to 1968 and was stationed at the Pentagon. Along with his parents, Irving was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Ray Allen.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Jennie Heath Allen of the home; son, Irving “Coy” Allen, Jr. and wife Amanda of Blacksburg, VA; two grandchildren: Cora and Annie Allen; sister, Betsy Hobgood ; brother, Teddy G. Allen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Wilkerson Funeral Home and Farmville Funeral Home are assisting with the services.
