Harold Denver Fletcher

Harold Denver Fletcher, 91, died Friday, June 24, 2016, at Mainland Medical Center after a brief illness.

He leaves his wife of 52 years, Jannette Harvill Fletcher, five children, son Carl and his wife Helen of Jasper, daughter Sandra LaPatra and her husband Howard of Sante Fe, son Keith Fletcher of Dallas, daughter Michelle Fletcher of Dallas, and son Rex Kevin Fletcher of Dallas. He also leaves six grandchildren, David Lausch , Larry Lausch, John Lausch, Darrel Lausch, Michael Lausch, Matthew Fletcher and many wonderful great grandchildren.

Harold was born to Maude and Emory Fletcher in Evant, Texas on October 17, 1924. He was predeceased by two brothers Byron Raby Fletcher and Norman Douglas Fletcher.

Harold was a long time resident of Texas City and worked as a Gauger for Marathon Oil for 41 years. He honorably served our country during World War II in the United States Air Force stationed in the Azores Islands, Portugal 1942-47. He was a survivor of the Texas City Disaster of 1947 and was featured in the book, "Texas City Remembers."
Harold was a very successful businessman, owning several local businesses and was very instrumental in the success of many other young entrepreneurs in this community.
He loved his three precious dogs, "Sissy," "Sally," and "Sue."

A Memorial Service will be held for Harold on Tuesday, June 28th, 10:00am at Carnes Funeral Home in Texas City.
