William Loomis Obituary

LOOMIS William Paul Loomis, age 50, of Fairfield, died Monday, January 31, 2006 following a long illness. Bill was born in Hartford, son of Bob and Joan Loomis and moved to Westport in 1955. He attended Westport schools and graduated from Staples High School, Class of 1973. He worked for Fair Auto Company before joining the Connecticut Department of Transportation where he worked for more than 25 years as a crew chief. He was a conscientious and exemplary worker, well liked by his peers. Bill was a cheerful companion, always eager to help others in times of need and his family and many friends will remember and miss him. Survivors in addition to his father and mother of Westport, include his son, William; and granddaughter, Samantha; one sister, Margaret Buddenhagen and her husband, Scott and their two children, Jonathan and Rachael of Weston. Friends are invited to greet the family Saturday, February 4th from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Road E., Westport. Contributions in memory of Bill may be made to a favorite charity.
