Funeral services to celebrate the life of Dawn M. Wheeler, 63, a resident of Davenport, will be 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at the Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, 614 N. Main Street, Davenport. The family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the services. Keeping with her wishes, cremation rites will take place following the services.

Dawn passed away Friday, June 17, 2016 surrounded by her family at ManorCare Nursing Facility – East Locust Street, Davenport.

Memorials may be made to the family or the Quad City Animal Welfare Center.

Dawn Anderson was born on November 9, 1952 in Davenport, a daughter of Arnold and Helen Marie (Jurgens) Anderson.

Dawn was primarily a homemaker, raising her four daughters. In more recent years, she had worked in the bakery at Hy-Vee at 53rd and Utica Ridge, Davenport.

Dawn loved to travel, particularly to the southwestern United States where the beauty of the rocks captured her heart. She also enjoyed country music, baking, and crocheting. Dawn cherished the time she spent with her family, especially caring for her grandchildren.

Dawn is survived by her daughters: Crystal (Tracy Springfield) Anderson, Davenport, Cathi (Jose) Gonzalez, Wentzville, Mo., Carrie Reese, Silvis, Ill., and Jennifer (Elijah) Burmeister, Davenport; grandchildren: Michael, Rodney, Benjamin, Eboni, Madison, Kendahl, Marcus, Kevin, DaLeesha, Amanda, Chelsea, and Garrett; 14 great-grandchildren; siblings: Kent Anderson, Davenport, Linda Plymale, Davenport and Arnie Anderson, LeClaire; an aunt, Norma Soenksen, DeWitt, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Ruth Ann Sheets.

Dawn’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff at ManorCare Nursing Facility – East Locust Street, Davenport and Genesis Medical Centers for all the compassionate care they showed to their mother and grandmother.
