Gail M. Hendricks, 78, of Aberdeen, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune.
She was born Gail M. Keenan on May 10, 1937 in Newark, and was raised in Bloomfield. On July 7, 1962, she married her husband, James P. Hendricks, and in 1964, Gail and James settled in Aberdeen to raise their family. Before retiring, she worked as a teacher at Red Bank Catholic High School. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, and was fondly known by her grandchildren as "Mammy."
She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Alice (Kennedy) Keenan, along with her daughter-in-law, Kelly Hendricks, and her grandson, Jack Hendricks. Gail is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, James P. Hendricks, her loving children, Alyson Honrath and her husband George of Brielle, Maureen Newman and her husband Dean of Virginia Beach, VA, Ed Hendricks and his wife Rachel of Brielle, JP Hendricks and his wife Terry of Coronado, CA, and John Hendricks of Rexford, NY. She is also survived by her dear siblings, Bill Keenan and his wife Arlene, and Lynne Doral and her husband Andy, along with her 18 cherished grandchildren. She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, November 29th from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 PM, and Monday morning, November 30th from 8 to 8:45 AM, at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3269 State Rt. 35 N., Hazlet. Mass of Christian Burial, Monday morning, November 30th at 9:15 AM, at St. Joseph R.C. Church, Keyport. In respect of Gail's wishes, she will be privately cremated.
