Gina R. Barton-French, age 50, Homosassa, FL, passed away on Sunday afternoon, June 12, 2016 at 3:25 pm after a long 7 year battle with Cancer.
She was under the loving care of the nurses at Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast in Lecanto, FL.
Gina was born May 16, 1966 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, Newton, MA. She lived in Natick, MA until she was 12, when she moved to Weare, NH with her mother Carolyn (Blanchard) Barton (now of Eppsom, NH) and her late grandmother, Phyllis Blanchard.
Gina worked many jobs over the years: a couple of years as a police officer for the Brunswick Police Dept. in Brunswick, ME; a CNA for several years at People Helping People in Manchester, NH; a Teachers' Aide at Blueberry Express in Pittsfield, NH; a waitress/bartender at JJ Goodwins in Barnstead, NH; a Team Leader for ServPro in Bow, NH before diagnosed with Cancer.
In 2010, Gina decided to move herself, her daughter Tiana and her beloved dog Sophie to Homosassa, FL. Gina loved the beach and water.
Before her death, she went on a couple of cruises and swam in waters that she always dreamed about.
Gina is survived by her fiancé Bruce Smith of Homosassa, FL; her sisters: Phyllis Fariel, Leesburg, FL, Holly Catania, Weston, FL; her daughters: Lacey Lara of St. Petersburg, FL, Tiana French and her fiancé Peter Scarano of Hernando, FL; and her granddaughters: Emelia, Kennedy and Sunny Lara.
