Paul F. Corcoran, 87, died at 3:35 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 5, 2006) in his home. A life long area resident, he was born May 16, 1919, in Falconer, the son of Paul E. and Hannah Adamson Corcoran. Paul attended Falconer High School and was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1945 in the 1st Division under General Patton in the European Theatre. He had been employed by MRC in the Jamestown Plant for 40 years, retiring in 1982.
Surviving is a son, David Corcoran of Stockton; two daughters: Donna Holliday of Goose Creek, SC and Shirley Blizzard of Buffalo; a stepson, Kenneth Peterson of Jamestown; a step-daughter, Carol Hughes of Lakewood; 11 grandchildren, 7 step- grand children, several great-grand children and great-great- grandchildren; and a sister, Kathryn C. Durinka of Cleveland, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha C. Smith Corcoran, whom he married June 8, 1957 and who died July 22, 1971; a stepdaughter, Marlene Heglund; a sister, Margaret C. Dinniney; six brothers: Clarence, Robert, Charles, Harold, Delbert and Kermit Corcoran; and a half-brother, Lawrence Corcoran.
