Jason R. Prindle served in Company D. 52nd Illinois Infantry in the Civil War.

He enlisted at Batavia, IL on Sept 10, 1861 and was mustered into Co. D 52nd IL Infantry on Nov 19, 1861 for 3 years service. He was described as 19 years old 5' 6-1/2" tall with brown hair, blue eyes, with light hair. He was a single clerk born in Bennington, NY. He reenlisted for another 3 years as a "Veteran Volunteer" on Dec 25, 1863 at Pulaski, TN. and was mustered out on July 6, 1865.

At the Battle of Shiloh, they had 170 men killed wounded and missing and at the Siege of Corinth they had 70 killed and wounded. They took part in Sherman's Northern Georgia Campaign resulting in the Fall of Atlanta. They then "Marched to the Sea" with Sherman's Army and served through the Carolinas, and took part in the "Grand Review" down Pennsylvania Ave. before the President, Congress, and Generals.

In the 1850 census of Attica, NY Jason is listed as 6 years old with his parents Abijah and Caroline Prindle

In the 1860 census of Batavia, IL Jason was listed as 16 years old residing with his father Abigah 50, brother James 20, and sister Agora 14, all born in NY.

On May 15, 1872 he married Isabella A. Hedenberg in Cook County, IL.

In the 1900 census of Chicago, IL, Jason is listed as 56, born Jan 1844 in NY married in 1872 residing with his wife Isabella age 50 born in MO and 5 of their 6 children: Miriam 27, Richard 23, Edith 21, Catherine 18 and Lucy 15 all born in IL.

On Nov 6, 1899 Jason received an Army Invalid Pension for his service in the Civil War, and following his death, his wife Isabella received an Army Widows Pension beginning Nov 12, 1900. Jason was buried in Graceland Cemetery.
