Freda M. Sims, 91 of Spencer and formerly of Bloomington died Tuesday, April 19, 2016 in Owen Valley Health Campus. She was born June 30, 1924 in Indianapolis to Fred Vest and Bessie Weaver Vest. She had been a presser for many years at Home Laundry in Bloomington. Freda was of the Baptist Faith and had attended Grace Baptist Temple before her husband's death.
Survivors include a daughters, Ruth Ann White and her husband James of Spencer and Jessica Evelyn Bault of Freedom; eight grandchildren; 20 Great-grandchildren; and several Great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph F. Sims; a son, Daniel Raymond Smith; two brothers, Freddie Vest and Frank Vest; four sisters, Beulah Moser, Gladys Vest, Thelma Slater and Mertyle Schmidt; and a son-in-law, Paul Bault.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, 700 W. Gourley Pike, with Pastor Don Dwyer officiating. Burial will follow in Chambersville Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, April 22, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
