Donna J. Woods, 87, of Clinton, Iowa passed away peacefully at the Alverno on Monday, June 20, 2016.

Cremation rites have been accorded with a Funeral Service taking place at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 24, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). A visitation will occur from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.

Donna was born May 13, 1929 in Honey Creek, Iowa, the daughter of Benjamin and Rose (Macintosh) Adams. She was a 1947 graduate of Elvira High School.

Donna was united in marriage to Jack Woods on October 10, 1949 in DeWitt, Iowa - they would later divorce.

Donna worked as a Bank Manager at 1st Trust Bank and Savings in Davenport, Iowa for 23 years. She was a member of the Business of Professional Women's Association, the Chamber of Commerce and the United Way.

Donna loved floral design work, she made many wedding bouquets and would do the flowers for her grandchildren's weddings. She enjoyed making and selling pie crusts, babysitting the grandchildren, walking, ballroom music and was always there to help those in need.

Her favorite quote was " they may have forgotten what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel". She will be sadly missed by her family and all those who knew her.

The family wishes to thank the entire staff at the Alverno, especially the nursing and support staff working at the Memory Lane floor - they were always very caring and loving to Donna.

Donna is survived by one son - Michael (Catherine "Kitty") Woods of Davenport, IA; two daughters - Pamela (Richard) Verreault of Quebec, Canada and Linda (Thomas) Rodts of Albany, IL; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and one sister - Dorothy Sandstoe of Clinton, IA.

Preceding Donna in death were her parents, three brothers and one sister.

Memorials made can be directed to the Alverno Employee Appreciate/Education Fund or the family.
