Services for Johnny Lindell Allen Sr. of Itta Bena will be at noon Friday at Providence MB Church. Mr. Allen, 62, died of heart failure Wed, June 16, 2016 at his home.

He worked for the City of
Itta Bena and the City of
Greenwood for over 29 years.
He was a member of Providence
MB Church, and his hobbies
included fishing, lawn mowing
and fixing cars. He is survived by his wife,
Martha Allen of Itta Bena; a
son, Johnny Allen Jr. of Memphis;
a daughter, LaShanda
Walker of Rockford, Illinois;
three sisters, Roberta Elam
and Dorothy Allen, both of
Greenwood, and Alberta Allen
of Toledo, Ohio; three brothers,
Robert Allen of Greenwood,
Jessie Allen of Itta Bena and
Willie Allen of Toledo; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 1 to 6pm Thursday at Century Funeral
Home, and the body will be at the church from 11 a.m. Friday
until the services. The Rev. Jessie Payne will
officiate at the services. Pallbearers
will be Jerry Brown,
Charles Robinson, Robert
Anthony Allen, Jeffery Jackson,
Jessie Johnson and Vincent
Jackson. Honorary pallbearers will
be Robert Allen, Willie Allen
and deacons of Providence
M.B. Church.
