Gilbert B. LaVoy, 78, of Adrian, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2016, at Toledo Hospital.Gilbert, the oldest of 13 children of Robert C. and Teresa LaVoy, was born on April 4, 1938, in Adrian. On April 22, 1961, he married Nancy Feinauer at St. Irene's Church, Dundee. They celebrated 55 years of marriage.Gilbert loved his country roots. He enjoyed the outdoors, doing gardening, pulling horses at the area fairs and listening to country and blue grass music. He was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Lakes, where he was head usher, the Irish Hills Lions' Club and the Michigan Dynamometer (Horse Pullers Association) Club. Gilbert worked as a millwright for Holcim, formerly Dundee Cement Plant, for 45 years, retiring in 2004.In addition to his wife, Nancy, he is survived by his children, Wade C. of Altus, Okla., Jim (Connie) of Adrian, Robert ' Bob' (Dawn) of Rockford, Ill., Sonya (Kevin) Merrill of Tecumseh; grandchildren, Dana, Emilee, Katie, Jacob, Daniel; and great-granddaughter, Molly; siblings, Paul, Leo, Charles, Marie, Susan, Phillip, Louis, Ann, Martin, Richard and Tim.He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carol.∼Married Nancy Feinauer.
