Evelyn (Caranci) Neri, age 88 born in South Barre, Massachusetts was the daughter of Antonio and Francesca Caranci and one of ten children. She entered into eternal rest with her loving family by her side on May 10, 2016.

She and her husband Rudy came to Hawthorne in 1956. She is a graduate of Becker College, Worchester, Massachusetts.

Evelyn was a longtime parishioner of St. Anthony's R.C. Church in Hawthorne. A devout Catholic, she was a member of the Rosary Society, volunteered yearly during the St. Anthony Feast making the famous zeppoles and was a member of the Serra Club of Paterson.

Evelyn's lifelong passion was raising her children and grandchildren and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed playing tennis and accompanying Rudy as they traveled the world extensively as part of his research and medical studies.

She is predeceased by her husband Rudy (April 30, 2012).

She is survived by her children, Philip and Ginny, Regina, Mark and Lynn, Annmarie and Buddy. She is also survived by her adoring grandchildren and was the proud 'Grandma Evie' to Priscilla, Jennifer, Lauren, Michael, Robyn, Nicole, and Mark and great grandsons, Grayson, Cruz and Cameron.

Viewing will be on Sunday, May 15th from 1:00 – 5:00pm at Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Ave., Hawthorne, NJ. A funeral mass will be held at St. Anthony's R.C. Church on Monday, May 16th at 9:30am followed by burial at Christ the King Cemetery in Franklin Lakes, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Anthony's R.C. Church, 276 Diamond Bridge Ave. Hawthorne, NJ 07506.
