MERIDEN - Leah Allen, 73, of 65 Westfield Road, died Friday, July 12, 1996, at Veterans Memorial Medical Center after a brief illness.

She was born in Friendship, Maine, on September 22, 1922, and was the daughter of the late Harold and Marietta (Hysler) Allen. She graduated from schools in Thomaston, Maine, and had resided in Meriden for the past 12 years. Miss Allen was employed by International Silver Co. for four years, and was a member of the Family Christian Worship Center.

Miss Allen is survived by two sisters, Marietta Allen of Meriden and Barbara Curry of Yarmouth, Maine. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Miss Allen was predeceased by a sister, Ruby Allen.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend the funeral service which will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. in the Hubbard Memorial Chapel in Walnut Grove Cemetery with Rev. Gordan McCarty officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. There will be no calling hours prior to the service. Arrangements are under the direction of the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St.
