Shelby Joe Jackson, Sr., 76, of Conway passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2016. He was born September 16, 1939 in North Little Rock, Arkansas to Basil and Elma Price Jackson. He was a Lock and Dam Operator with the Corps of Engineers for 35 years, an Air Force Vietnam veteran for 7 years and a member of the American Legion, post# 0001 and life member of VFW 2259 in Conway. Shelby loved his grandchildren, fishing and coin collecting.
He is survived by his son, two grandchildren, his life companion for many years, brother and three sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jane Ann Stanton; and his brothers, Donald Jackson and Billy Jackson.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 5th at Smith – North Little Rock Funeral Home. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 6th at the funeral home. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery.
