Zelda Blanche (Maurer) Smith, 100, formerly of Altoona, died Friday in the Susque-View Home, Lock Haven. She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late Abraham Lincoln and Margaret (Howard) Maurer. She married John M. Smith Nov. 28, 1929. He died April 9, 1991.

She was a homemaker and a former member of the First Baptist Church, Altoona.

Mrs. Smith is survived by a grandson; two great-grandsons; and 17 nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18, 2006, in the Dean K. Wetzler Jr. Funeral Home, 320 Main Street, Mill Hall, Pa., with her nephew, Pastor Robert Maurer, officiating. Interment will be at 3 p.m. in Grandview Cemetery, Altoona. Memorial contributions may be made to the Romola Bible Church, in care of the funeral home.
