SEDALIA, MO. — Ted W. Miller, 75, died May 30 at the Hospice Living Center in Versailles, MO., following a battle with diabetes and pulmonary fibrosis.

He was born Nov. 19, 1940, in Goshen, to Helen (Timmons) and Eldon Miller.

He graduated from Elkhart High School in 1958. He then spent the next four years in the U.S. Air Force. He was also a California Highway patrolman for many years. In 1978, He joined his father and brother, Jerry, in their Portland, OR., family boat store, Miller’s Marine, until it was sold in 1991.

His only child, Laura, was born in Los Angeles County in 1968. He was ecstatic to be a father, and later, a grandfather.

On May 17, 1985, he married Darlene J. Diehl in Clark County, Nevada. They loved Sedalia’s quiet open meadows and wildlife, and made their home there.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene; daughter Laura Skophammer of Hesperia, CA.; and grandchildren Caden Skophammer and Serena Skophammer, both of Hesperia; and sisters Carol Crumet of Granger and Dianne Moore of Elkhart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jerry Miller of Tigard, OR., and a sister, Sandy Canen of Elkhart.
