Helen A. Powers, age 101, of Alliance, passed away at 12:04 p.m., Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at Alliance Community Hospital.
She was born March 29, 1915, in Salem, Ohio, to Martin and Eva (Hlavaj) Zatko.
Helen attended Salem High School and was a member of Abiding Savior Lutheran Church and Alliance Area Senior Center.
She enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, sewing, traveling, playing cards and word puzzles. She loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Barbara (Robert) Butcher of Alliance; grandchildren, Steven (Jeni) Butcher of Killbuck, Ohio, Carrie (Erik) Blymiller of Alliance and Christine Doty (Paul Jeffers) of Alliance; great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Nicklas, Kullen, Edison, Connor and Angel; sister-in-law, Betty F. Zatko of Tennessee; and many nieces and nephews.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman Powers whom she married June 14, 1941; brothers, Clarence, Milan, Martin, Edward and Steve Zatko; and sisters, Emma Zatko, Margaret Zatko, Olga Panuska and Alice Dever.

Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
