SHAWN MCCORMICK Shawn McCormick, 67, loving father and grandfather, passed away Monday, June 20, 2016, from complications due to surgery. Shawn was born Aug. 1, 1948, in Boulder City, to William and Jessie McCormick. He graduated from UNLV and Central Michigan University. He taught in Michigan, Nevada, and California, where he was devoted to teaching children with extreme special needs. He was also an administrator for the Clark County School District and Kingman Unified School District. He was very involved with coaching his sons in many different sports and was a member of the U.S. Naval Reserve. He is survived by his sons, Matthew (Shelley), Kevin (Lisa), Scott and Steven. He is also survived by his five grandchildren; two brothers, Bill and Brian; and his former wife, Nikki. Memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, at Northwest Community Church, Fellowship Hall (on the campus of First Christian Church), 101 S. Rancho Drive, Las Vegas.
