AUSTIN (Cedar Springs) -

Mrs. Lena Austin, aged 91, a faithful child of God was welcomed home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday afternoon, May 17, 2004.

Mrs. Austin was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Cedar Springs since 1940, becoming a member soon after accepting Christ as her Savior. She worked in the office of Wolverine World Wide for 21 years.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Beryl, in 1997; her brothers, Charles Caldwell, Joe Caldwell, Fay Caldwell and Vern Caldwell; and her sisters, Mrs. Lottie Hawkins, and Mrs. Sylvia Weller.

Mrs. Austin is survived by her children, Roy and Kathleen Austin of Swartz Creek, Frank and Joyce Austin and Joel and Hope Austin, all of Cedar Springs; 10 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Lois Wilder of North Carolina; sister-in-law, Mrs. Lena Caldwell of Sand Lake; nieces and nephews.

The service of Praise and Thanksgiving to God for the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ for Mrs. Austin will be Friday morning at 11 o'clock at First Baptist Church of Cedar Springs with her grandson, Pastor Mike Austin and Pastor Stanley Mohr officiating. Burial in Solon Twp. Cemetery.

Those planning expressions of sympathy are asked to consider First Baptist Church of Cedar Springs, designated for her grandsons, Randy and Jeremy and their families for their missionary work. Friends may celebrate Mrs. Austin's life with her family from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. The Pederson Funeral Home, Rockford
