Cecilia was born to Antone and Anna Armas Freitas Miguel, Portuguese immigrants from the Azores Islands. She received her education in Fresno and later met and married Tony Martin on August 4, 1934 and were married for 72 years. A homemaker, Cecilia was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Easton where she and Tony made their home, and over the years were active in several Portuguese Organizations.
Cecilia passed away in a Fresno Convalescent Hospital where she had been staying most recently.
In addition to her parents, Cecilia was preceded in death by her two children, Barbara Meadows, and Anthony Martin Jr. and by 2 of her brothers Tony and Fernando Miguel.
She is survived by her husband, Tony Martin, brothers George Miguel and Fred Miguel, her daughter-in-law Edna Martin , and her sisters-in-law Doris Lima, and Dora Mendonca and her husband George. She is the Grandmother of Johnny Martin and his companion Gloria Gibson, Julie Thompson and her husband Stephen, Christopher Martin and his wife LaRetta, Lisa Moya, Jeanne Jurgens and her husband Guy, Michael Martin, Richard Martin, Anthony Martin and his companion Rhonda Boekemeier and Brian Martin. She is the great grandmother of 17 and the Great Great Grandmother of 15.
