Arlene passed away peacefully May 29, 2016, surrounded by her children at Acacia Health Center of Sagewood in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Arlene, born September 12, 1924, in Reading, Pennsylvania, was the wife (64 years) of the late Rear Admiral James W. Montgomery USN (ret).

She graduated from Misericordia School of Nursing in 1946 and maintained her standing as a Registered Nurse until 1988. For many years, Arlene graciously gave her expertise and time to many US Navy, public, private and charitable organizations, including President of Goodwill Industries initiating the Embassy Tours in Washington, D.C.

She is survived by two sons, Thomas, of Sterling, Va., and Scottsdale, Ariz., James Jr., of Coronado, Calif., and Scottsdale, Ariz.; and her daughter, Deborah Montgomery/ Placet of Paradise Valley, Ariz.; and six grandchildren: James III, Stephanie, Megan, Joseph, Melissa and Emily. A son, Robert Gerald, was lost as an infant.

Her life will be celebrated with a Catholic Mass at the Chapel of Ft. Myer, Virginia, and burial alongside her husband at Arlington National Cemetery. The date to be determined.
