Monica was born July 25, 1980, in Sharon, a daughter of Hirman and Judy Cameron Griffin.
She attended Sharon Christian Academy, Hermitage, and was a 1998 graduate of Sharon High School.
Monica attended Mt. Vernon (Ohio) Nazarene University and Youngstown State University. She obtained her LPN license through the Mercer County Career Center, Mercer, and was a nurse at UPMC Horizon Hospital in Farrell and Greenville. She was also a home health nurse for Maximum Health Care, Boardman, OH.
Monica attended Sharon Alliance Church and was a former member of Gentle Shepherd Church of the Nazarene, Hermitage.
She was the stereotypical “soccer mom” and loved attending her daughter’s and nieces and nephews games and events.
She enjoyed gardening, landscaping, motorcycle rides, walking her dog, car rides and taking walks with her mother.
Monica was very helpful and caring will be remembered by many for her compassion toward others. She was loved by all who knew her.
Surviving are: her parents, Harmy and Judy Griffin, Sharon; her significant other, Terence “Eddie” Metz, with whom she made her home; a sister, Melissa P. Fischer and her husband Justin, and their children, Ian, Mia and Mae, all Sharon; the father of her child, Jonathan Richardson, Sharon; and Jonathan’s mother, Diane Richardson, Farrell, PA.
Monica was preceded in death by her daughter, Elyssa Griffin; a brother, Gene Cameron Griffin; and grandparents, John and Marie Cameron and Ben and Pauline Griffin.
Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
