She retired from teaching in 2003 but continued to be an active member of the Canyon Lake United Methodist Church. Sondra was married to Charles Uley Parker of San Antonio from 1965 until 1997 and has lived in the Canyon Lake area for over 40 years. Sondra is survived by her nephew, James B. Despite many health problems, Sondra continued to be an active member of the Canyon Lake United Methodist Church, singing in the choir and playing handbells. She will always be remembered for her devotion to her friends and family and her love of life. Her smile and laughter were reflections of her faith and reminded her friends and family to find joy in their everyday life. Her loving, gentle spirit will endure in the loved ones she left behind.
