Mr. Abney died Tuesday, April 19, 2005. Born on July 6, 1951, in Greenwood, S.C., he was the son of the late John Sidney and Olivia Powell Abney. Mr. Abney was employed by C.B. Richard Ellis. He was a member of the Greater Columbia Association of Realtor's Commercial Alliance, Lifetime member of Columbia Circle of Excellence, member of the Midlands Striper Club, Ducks Unlimited, and the National Wild Turkey Federation.
He is survived by his wife, Kim Hagen Abney of Leesville; a daughter, Miriam Abney of Charleston; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Joseph (Jennie) of Columbia, and Jason Joseph (Stephanie) of Simpsonville; grandchildren, Nicholas, Samantha and Andrew Bodnar, Matthew Joseph, Wells Smith, Noah and Ryan Joseph; and half brother, Jack Abney of Greenville.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Susie Bess Abney.
