Doris E. McNeil, age 99, of Easton, passed away peacefully Monday, January 21, 2008 in her home surrounded by her many friends and caregivers. Born in Newark, NJ, the daughter of the late Roderick and Ann McNeil she had been an Easton resident for nearly 70 years. She received her BS Degree in Business Administration from Syracuse University where she was active in her sorority. Miss McNeil's secretarial career included positions at McKesson & Robbins and the American Cyanamid Company. She was an active member of the Easton Senior Center as well as an avid Bridge player and accomplished artist. Survivors include cousins, Judy Campbell of El Cajon, CA and Marilyn Carroll of Westminster, MA, and her many friends including her dear and devoted friend and caregiver Evang. Lillie Williams of Bridgeport and Rosemary Lefflebine of Danbury. She was predeceased by her brothers, Ronald Snow McNeil and Milton Burham McNeil. A graveside service will be held Friday, January 25, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport with the Rev. Dr Edward Duffy and Pastor Kelvin Newton co-officiating. (Upon entering cemetery via gate on North Ave. follow sign #1 to gravesite) Prior calling hours have been omitted. Arrangements under the direction of the Spear-Miller Funeral Home 39 South Benson Rd., Fairfield. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to either the Easton Senior Center, 650 Morehouse Road, Easton, CT 06612 or to the CT Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111.
