Janice A. Meineke, age 87, a former Mishicot resident, entered into eternal
life Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at the Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, in
Manitowoc. Janice was born July 26, 1926 in Mishicot to the late Archie and
Julia Stransky Peltier, and has been a lifelong area resident. She was a
graduate of the Mishicot High School graduating with the class of 1944. Janice
was baptized August 8, 1926 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot. She
married Dale W. Meineke January 13, 1945 in Mishicot, he preceded her in death
January 27, 2000. She was confirmed at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church
March 30, 1947. She was employed by the Holst Department Store in Mishicot for
many years as a clerk, and later worked as a luncheon aide for the Mishicot
Elementary School. Janice was a faithful member of St. Peter's Evangelical
Lutheran Church where she was a Charter Member of the St. Peter's Bible Hour for
many years. She served as a volunteer for the RSVP. Janice loved spending time
with her family, gardening, knitting, and cross stiching.

In addition to her parents, and husband, she was also preceded in death by two
special Angelic grandchildren, Angela Sue, and Philip Paul; one brother, Marvin
Peltier; two brothers-in-law, Donald Meineke and Gerald Lambert.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at St.
Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mishicot, with the Reverend Robert Johannes
officiating, with burial to follow in the Mishicot Public Cemetery. Relatives and
friends may call after 9:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church, until the time of
service at 11:00 a.m. There will be no Friday evening visitation. A memorial fund
has been established in her name.
Janice's wish was to be in Heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She lived
her faith and was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Thank you
to Pastor Johannes for your prayers. She looked forward to your visits and also
visits from her faithful friends, and family. To all of mom's friends, especially
Elaine, and the entire staff at the Manitowoc Health and Rehab. Center, our family
thanks you. The concern, compassion, and devoted care will stay in our hearts
forever. Live in faith until we meet again as God's Happy Family. The Lambert-Eckert
