Dr. Lloyd A. Sanders, 96, Ada, Minnesota, died Sunday, June 19, 2016, at Twin Valley Living Center, Twin Valley, MN.

Lloyd Ardel Sanders, was born April 20, 1920, in Grand Forks, ND., the son of J. John and Jennie (Haugen) Sanders. He moved with his family to Ada, in 1923, where he grew up and attended public school. In high school, he worked with his family in their implement business. He graduated from Ada High School, in 1938, and later, attended college at the University of Minnesota, in Minneapolis.

Lloyd served in the United States Army, during World War II, and was honorably discharged. He was united in marriage to Eileen "Scotty" Scott, on September 7, 1946, in Syracuse, NY. They moved to Little Falls, MN., for a few years, before moving to Ada. Lloyd opened his dental practice and continued for many years, before retiring in the early 1980's. Lloyd was very active in the Ada business community over the years and served on the boards for the Chamber of Commerce, Heart of the Valley Golf Club, and Ada VFW Club. After he retired from his dental practice, he worked part time for the golf course and Ada Cenex.

He was also on the move and volunteered many hours on beautification projects around the Ada parks, school, and golf course. He received several awards from the Chamber and other organizations for his efforts. In addition, he also cared for several lawns of private homeowners. Lloyd had lived in his home, until 2013, when he became a resident of the Twin Valley Living Center.

Lloyd is survived by his son, David; granddaughter: Jessica Carter (Ron Roy), Twin Valley, MN., two great grandsons: Hunter and Colton; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Scotty, in 1986; his daughter, JennyLyn Sanders, in 2003; and five brothers: Clement, Raymond, John, Donald, and Myron.

Memorial Gathering: 2:00PM, Friday, June 24, 2016, at Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home, Ada, MN.

Visitation: One hour before the service at the funeral home.

Interment: Ada Municipal Cemetery, Ada, MN.
