David "Teddy" Burleson, age 58, of Spruce Pine, passed away on Monday, June 20th, 2016 at his home. A native of Mitchell County, he was a son of the late Charles and Mable Phillips Burleson. He was also preceded in death by two siblings. Teddy was a member of Faith Fellowship Church who was very active in their local Outreach Wood Ministry. He loved visiting with his family and watching westerns.
Left to cherish his memories are his daughters: Bridget Burleson and Tabitha Burleson both of California; sons: Adam Burleson also of California and T.J. Burleson of Indiana; ten grandchildren; a sister, Donna Ledford and husband, Wayne, of Spruce Pine; brothers: Tommy Burleson and wife, Angie, of Burnsville and Tony Burleson of Spruce Pine; nieces: Brandi Cox of Bakersville and Charity Burleson of Spruce Pine and nephews: Chad Burleson and Cameron Cox of Spruce Pine and Brandigan Cox of Marion.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 23rd in Faith Fellowship Church. Rev. David Gillespie will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the funeral service at the church.
