Singer, Actor. Born in Chihuahua, Mexico, he was known as "Rey Del Falsete". ("King of the Faksetto"). Instantly recognizable by his jet black hair with trademark streak of white in front, he recorded more than 1,000 songs on 90 albums and appeared in more than 60 movies. His best-known songs include "El Jinete", "La Malagueña", "Ni Contigo Ni Sin Ti", "La Barca de Guaymas", "El Pastor", "La Del Rebozo Blanco", and "Se Me Hizo Fácil", and he performed unforgettable duets with the likes of Libertad Lamarque, Marco Antonio Muñiz, and Pedro Vargas. He is considered one of the greatest representatives of the Ranchera genre and Golden Age Mexican cinema.
