After the death of Eliza Ann Fore Middleton, John married Martha Bond on Dec 31, 1883.

Upon John's death, Martha qualified for a Confederate Pension from the State of Alabama

John G. Middleton filed a paper in the courthouse to show that the four children he had with Martha Bond Middleton were his. The paper filed was:
