He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country.
He was united in marriage to his true love Lelia Madison on June 19, 1986 in Harrison, Michigan. He had lived in Gladwin County since 1967, previously residing in Kentucky. He was employed by the Harrison Community Schools as a Bus Supervisor until his retirement.
He was a member of the Gladwin Chapter of Pheasants Forever, he served on the board of directors for Island Lake Development Corporation and as a Clare County Sheriff’s Reserve.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 30 years, Lelia Ford, his two sons: Raymond (Linda) Henry of Chicago, Illinois; William (Tammy) Henry of Newberry, Michigan; and his daughter: Monica (Mark) Wilinski of Akron, Michigan. His children blessed him with five beautiful grandchildren: Jessica, Daniel, Stephanie, Alex and Kaitlyn; and one great grandchild, Joseph.
Louis is also survived by his brother: Jerry (Joan) Ford of Lafayette, Tennessee; and four sisters: Della Jean Brooks of Fountain Run, Kentucky; Janice Ford of Lafayette, Indiana; Susan Wilson of Bowling Green, Kentucky; and Ann Turner of Lafayette Indiana. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Stacey McDaniel; one sister, Nell Abston; parents and stepfather Owen “Pop” Boucher.
Memorial Services were conducted on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin Michigan. Those wishing to send an expression of sympathy in lieu of flowers are asked to consider Pheasants Forever of Gladwin, Michigan.
