Funeral services for Sara Lou Kirkland Scott, 70, of Twin City will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 in the chapel of Tomlinson Funeral Home with Reverend George Archer, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Coleman Cemetery in Twin City. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 21, 2016 between the hours of 6 – 8 p.m. at Tomlinson Funeral Home. She died Sunday, June 19, 2016 at Memorial Health University Hospital in Savannah.
Mrs. Sara Lou Kirkland Scott was born in Emanuel County to the late Robert A. and Ester Harper Kirkland. She was a 1963 graduate of Swainsboro High School. She had worked in the school lunch room and at Ithaca in the sewing division. Sara was a member of Bythinia Primitive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Lane Kirkland.
Survivors include her husband, John Robert Scott of Twin City; daughters, Sara Ellen White of Twin City and April Hadden (Jimmy) of Twin City; grandchildren, Sara Amanda Dennis and Mackayla Autum Oglesby; brother, Benton Kirkland (Dollie) of Swainsboro; two sisters, Carolyn Wren of McIntyre and Virginia Herndon (Richard) of Twin City; and, several nieces and nephews.
