He was the loving husband of Delores C. (Davenport) Meyer; together they shared over 54 years of marriage.
Frederick was born in York and was the son of the late Michael L. and Mary L. (Witman) Meyer.
He graduated from Spring Grove Area High School class of 1956.
After high school he joined the U.S. Army and served for two years and was honorably discharged.
He then started working for himself as a painting contractor and continued that for 50 years until he retired.
He was a former member of St. Paul Wolf's E.C.C and a member of Zion United Methodist Church in York.
He was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, water skiing and bike riding.
In addition to his wife Delores, Frederick is survived by his two sons, his daughter, his brother, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Following cremation, a memorial service in celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday at 11:30 am at Zion United Methodist Church, 1030 Carlisle Rd., York PA.
Interment will be held privately by the family at St. Paul (Wolf's) Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10:00 am – 11:30 am at the church.
Family services are under the direction of Beck Funeral Home and Cremation Service Inc. of Spring Grove.
