Peggy Watkins, 90, left her earthly life on June 13, 2016 to be with her Lord and Savior.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, June 21 at Maplewood Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia.

Peggy was born December 8, 1925 in Emporia, KS, the daughter of George R. and Opal Waller Fry. She graduated from Emporia High School with honors. Peggy married Donald Earl Watkins in 1946 and they moved to Downers Grove, IL in 1959, living there until they retired in 1983 to Overland Park, KS. God gave many blessings in their marriage of 58 years.

Peggy loved anything creative in the art field, plus working with her flowers and shrubs in the backyard. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Overland Park, and her greatest loves were her God, family, and home. She will be missed.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; her parents; her brother, Donald Eugene Fry; and grandson, Martin Emory Watkins. She is survived by her son, Gary and his wife Barbara of Shawnee, and grandson Matthew of Olathe.
