Jan 9, 1932-June 18, 2016 Hazel Hicks, 84, of Birmingham, AL went to be with the Lord on June 18, 2016. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was retired from EMC Ins. and had worked in the commercial insurance business in the Birmingham area for 40 years. She loved playing golf and spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, James G. Hicks. She is survived by her sister; Grace McCrory, sons; Bob Hood (Cindy) and Rusty Hicks (Jeannette), her grandchildren; Marcus Hood (Lauren), Ashley Gunn (Geoff), Amanda Hood, Brittney Clay (Jon Ross), and Ryan Hicks and her great-grandchildren; Max Gunn, Liddie Gunn, Macy Hood, and Fynleigh Clay. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 20, 2016 from 12-1pm with the funeral service following at 1pm at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South on Hwy 150 in Hoover, AL. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Alzheimer's Association . www.alz.org
