Obituary for Jennifer Lancaster

Jennifer Elaine Deaton was born March 14, 1964 in Monroe. She was one of three children born from the union of Lawrence Deaton and Carol (Tolbert) Deaton. Jennifer was a 1982 graduate of Monroe High School and earned her Licensed Practical Nurse Certification at the Toledo School of Practical Nursing. She was employed at Progressive Residential Services as a Licensed Practical Nurse until she took a Medical Retirement in 2007.

Jennifer married the love of her life, George Lancaster on October 10, 1998 at Rapha Christian Centre in LaSalle. Together they received their spiritual nourishment at North Monroe Church of God in Monroe. Jennifer was devoted to supporting our Honored United States Veterans at numerous fundraisers and enjoyed searching for treasures at auctions and yard sales. Her daughter was her number one hobby and valued every moment together, especially watching movies. As the epitome of grace, she valued time spent with her Lord and Savior reading His Word, snuggled up with her Standard Poodle companion, “Haven.”

Jennifer Elaine Lancaster, age 52, of Monroe passed away at 1:40pm on Friday, June 17, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. In addition to her paternal grandfather, Lawrence Deaton Sr., and her maternal grandparents, Alanzo Tolbert and Margaret Rose McBee, her passing was preceded by her brother: Gary Deaton.

To cherish her memory, she leaves her husband of seventeen years, George; three children: Abigail Lancaster of Erie, Adam Lancaster of Spring Lake, Michigan, and Jamie Lancaster of Quincy, Illinois; her parents: Lawrence and Carol Deaton; one sister: Kathy (Brian) Revels of Mason, Michigan; three grandchildren; and one on the way.

Friends may gather from 12:00pm until 2:00pm on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Merkle Funeral Service, South Monroe, 14567 South Dixie Highway (734) 241-7070. A Celebration of Her Life will take place at 2:00pm also at Merkle’s with Pastor Rick Massingill of North Monroe Church of God officiating. Procession will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park for burial.
