Visitation for Ms. Conger will be Friday, February 2nd from 12:00-1:00 PM at McEvoy Funeral Home with a private family graveside service to follow. Pallbearers will be Jeremiah Cole, Rick Conger, Ronnie Conger, Jimmy Lee, James Lindsey, and Ryan Lindsey.
Ms. Conger attended Routon School until its closing and then went to Henry School and was a 1950 graduate. She was a longtime member of the Church of Christ. She formerly worked at the Eiffel Gardens, Holley Carburetor, Perkins Drug Store, and Walmart of Paris. Betty was a very dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother.
Betty Lindsey Conger was born July 11, 1930, in Routon, TN to the late Atlas Archie Lindsey and the late Lotterine Carter Lindsey.
On June 9, 1952, she married Joe F. Conger and he preceded her in death on April 17, 2016.
Ms. Conger is survived by her son, Danny (P.J.) Conger of Paris; four grandchildren: Harmony Conger, Hope Conger, Shea Kent, and Seth Kent; sister, Janice Dawn Clapper of Springfield, TN; three brothers: Bobby Joe Lindsey of Bell Buckle, TN, David Carter Lindsey of Mansfield, TN, and Roy Earl (Kim) Lindsey of Gallatin, TN; sister-in-law: Helen Sanders of Paris, TN; brother-in-law: Houston Conger of Springville, TN; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends including Linda Hamm and Rena Sanders.
Besides her parents and husband, Betty was also preceded in death by five sisters: Myra Rebecca Hurst, Carolyn Jane Donnelly, Judy Gammon, Margaret Harris, and Jeanette Williams; and two brothers: Atlas Lindsey, Jr. and James Thomas Lindsey.
