ARTESIA - Ernest Manuel Evans, 88, of West Mann Ave., died Wednesday, March 1, 1995, at Artesia Good Samaritan Center. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. today.
Mr. Evans was born on April 6, 1906, in Camp San Saba, Texas. He married Velma Cliffton on May 25, 1939, in McCamey, Texas. She preceded him in death on Feb. 10, 1975. He moved to Artesia in 1942 from McCamey. He was a retired pumper for General American Oil Company and a member of Faith Baptist Church.
He is survived by his son, Carrol Cochran of Artesia; sisters Mary Appleton of Brady, Texas, and Ruth Borden of Odessa; two grandsons and three great-grandsons.
