Growing up Claude enjoyed Wyoming life, living in Casper, and working on local ranches in the summers. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
In June of 1942 he married Mary Louise Liston. Together they enjoyed 70 years of song, travel, and faith together.
In 1979 they retired to Hemet, CA. Claude and Mary were members of First Presbyterian Church. After Mary passed away in May of 2012, Claude relocated to San Jose, CA where he lived with his son, Carl, and daughter in law Carolyn until his passing on April 9, 2016. He is survived by his
children, Charlene Wells (and John Wells), and Carl Thomas(and Carolyn Thomas), as well as four grandchildren (Marie and husband Mike Bachman, Colton, Rachel, and Alaina) and one great-grandchild (Kailyn Bachman).
