Frances Harriet Sullivan-Matthews of Melbourne, FL, went to be with the Lord on July 23, 2015 after a battling cancer. Frances was born August 7, 1940, in Roanoke, VA, to Luther Deans "Dean" Sullivan and Mary Latham West-Sullivan.
She grew up in her family's hometown of Wilson, NC, and married Douglas Harold Matthews, formerly of Wilson, NC, in 1963. The family also lived in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Richmond, VA. She attended Charles L. Coon High School and Atlantic Christian College where she was a member of Sigma Tau Chi sorority, now Phi Mu. She was a descendent of Mayflower Pilgrim James Chilton. Frances was a linear non member of The Mayflower Society.
Frances is survived by her children: Sarah (Bill) Korab of Melbourne, FL, and their children Lauren Korab and Daniel Fenters Jr. Michael (Dianne) Matthews of Myrtle Beach, SC, and their children Gabriel, Simeon and Luke.
She is predeceased by her parents and her sisters, Virginia and Janet. She was interred in the Sullivan family plot at Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson, NC.
