Nanette Jean "Nan" Carter, 66, of Chewsville, Md., passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at Meritus Medical Center near Hagerstown, Md.
Born Dec. 12, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Robert and Hazel Wiggins Gilbert.
Nanette was a member of The Salvation Army.
Nanette was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome Roger Carter, on June 29, 1988.
Nanette is survived by a daughter, Terra N. Salisbury, Chewsville, Md.; two sons, Jerry N. Carter of Hagerstown, Md., and Christian L. Carter of Funkstown, Md.; two sisters, Florence A. Main of Smithsburg, Md., and Hazel K. Sisk of Boonsboro, Md.; two brothers, Albert L. Gilbert of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Robert Gilbert of Henderson, N.C.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Nanette was preceded in death by one grandson, Benjamin Salisbury.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. There will be no viewing. Arrangements are by Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, Md.
