Mrs. Hazel L. Carpenter died Wednesday (Oct. 9, 1974) afternoon at a Middletown nursing home following an extended illness. She lived at 3708 Fletcher St. and was a former employee of the Kair Store and Wellers.

Mts. Carpenter was a 50-year member of the OES chapter at Roachdale and was a member of the Mary Stewart Business and Professional Women’s Club and Central Christian Church.

Surviving are her husband, H. H. Carpenter; a son, Morris M. of Anderson; a sister, Miss Pearl I. Scott of Indianapolis; two granddaughters, Mrs. Shirley Roudebush and Mrs. Sharon K. Carpenter, both of Anderson and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. at Baker Brothers Funeral Home with Dr. Ted Hurst officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery near North Salem. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today.
