Robert Redford Roark, Jr., age 84 of Oakwood and Houston, passed away in Oakwood on June 16, 2016. Graveside services will be held at 12:30 P.M., Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at the Houston National Cemetery in Houston. Robert Redford Roark, Jr. was born on March 11, 1932 in Wilmont, Arkansas to Robert R., Sr. & Addie (Doss) Roark. He served his country in the U.S. Army and worked as a welder for most of his life. Mr. Roark loved any job that had him outdoors. He enjoyed being outside whenever he could. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR when he had a chance. Mr. Roark had lived in Houston for most of his life but traveled to Oakwood whenever he could. He was Pentecostal in faith. He is proceeded in death by both of his parents; two sisters and son-in-law, Alfred Kubecka. Surviving family members include daughter, Patricia Kubecka of Houston; grandchildren, Michael, Tina & Rodney Kubecka and great grandchildren, Casey & Hallie Adams and Aaron & Dakota Kubecka. Mr. Roark is also survived by his former wife, Johnnie Roark of Houston. Walters Funeral Home in Centerville is in charge of all arrangements.
