Hannah A. Evans Norfolk - Hannah Augusta Brown Madsen Evans, 94 years old, passed from the earthly life to her heavenly home Sunday morning, June 12, 2016. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, she immigrated with her family to this country and was raised in Hoboken, NJ. She met, married and is survived by her husband of 72 years, Clifford E. Evans. Left to cherish her memory are her brother, William A. Madsen; three sons, Charles C. Evans and his wife Carol, James R. Evans and his wife Sylvia, and John A. Evans and his wife Nancy; three grandchildren, Charles C. Evans, Jr., Deborah R. Jones and Jennifer E. Wilson. From them, there are eight great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Also very close to her are two nieces, Carolyn Myrich and her husband Wayne and Christine Madsen; Earl Mize "a fourth son" who was accepted into her family. She was a member of The Order of Eastern Star, Westminster Chapter 99 and a Star Point and Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church of Norfolk. She was a devoted wife and mother, active in all her boy's upbringing activities. Her home was open to all the neighborhood kids and friends and she was one of the original "neighborhood moms." The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Dr. Chapel on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2016, in the funeral home chapel with O.E.S.
