Mary Jane Galer's "COLUMBUS, GA: Lists of People, 1828-1852, and Sexton's Reports to 1866" (2000), p. 247, shows: Col. ROOD's child died aged 15 months (cause of death not reported) and was buried 18 SEP 1864, as a non-resident of Columbus, Georgia (from "July to October, 1864, report of Sexton for 3d qtr.," dated 10 OCT 1864). [The sexton at that time was Robert Thomas SIMONS.] John H. Martin's "The Making of a Modern City: Columbus, Georgia, 1827-65," Volume II (1875), p. 173 (from the version of the sexton's quarterly report that was published in the local newspaper,) shows: a child of Col. ROODE.
A transcription of this grave in Autry's "Historic Linwood Cemetery," Volume 1, p. 161, errantly shows her as Mary Evans [sic], daughter of A. P. & B. E. ROOD.
