Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Bill C. Whitmire, age 85 of Maysville, Georgia who entered into rest Tuesday, June 14, 2016. Mr. Whitmire was born in Jackson County, Georgia a son of the late Paul and Kate McDougald Whitmire, was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, a member of Cave Springs Baptist Church, owned and operated a successful poultry and cattle farm and spreader service. In addition to his parents, Mr. Whitmire is preceded by his wife, Faye Rogers Whitmire, four sisters, Pat Carter, Mildred Youmans, Peggy Tolbert, and Bobbie Watts. Five brothers Lewis, Charlie, Mike, Simon and Jim Whitmire.

Survivors include a daughter Wanda Crenshaw of Maysville, two sons; Wendell and Wade Whitmire of Maysville, one sister; Joan Sizemore of Commerce. Five Grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 17, 2016 in the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Jackson Memorial Park, Commerce, Georgia. Gentlemen honored as pallbearers are Adam Crenshaw, Billy, Nick, John, Jeff and Shane Whitmire. The family will receive friends 6 – 8 P.M. Thursday, June 16, 2016.
