Being able to help people was her passion and had followed that desire by becoming a CNA, working for several years at the Chautauqua Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and the Council on Aging in DeFuniak. Teresa loved being outside where she could watch the birds, frogs, and nature as a whole. She delighted in spending time with her grandchildren. Often she combined the two by planting flowers with the helping hands of her grandchildren.

Nelson of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; three daughters, Crystal and Thomas (Tommy) Robbins, Bridgett and Alvaro Ortega and Shawna and Brian McCrory; seven grandchildren, Brooke and Tyler Robbins, Bryson and Carmen Ortega, Hunter and Fisher Weimorts and Tucker McCrory; parents, Wilma and Louie Flowers; and one sister, Denise Hembach and Joel.
