George Lorenz, 82, of Mishicot, died Sunday at Maple Crest Sanitorium,
Whitelaw, where he had been a patient for six weeks. Funeral services
will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Lambert Funeral Home, Mishicot, and
at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church. The Rev. Anthony Betley will
officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Lorenz was born Jan. 27, 1885, in the Town of Lima, Sheboygan County,
son of the late Nicholas and Cora Denzlien Lorenz. He married Rosa
Schuessler at Jamestown, N.D., and the couple moved to Mishicot in 1925.
He was employed at Portland Cement Company, Manitowoc, for 15 years,
after which he was employed at Western Condensing Company, now Foremost
Dairy Co., Mishicot, until his retirement. His wife died in 1946. In
1947, he married Orilla Fisher. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic
Church and Holy Name Society. Survivors include his wife of Manitowoc;
a daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Cora) Mrotek of Manitowoc; two brothers, Jake
of Sheboygan Falls and John of Tacoma, Wash., and two grandchildren. Two
brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. Friends may call at the
funeral home after 3 p.m. Tuesday where the Holy Name Rosary will be
recited at 7:30 p.m. and the parish Rosary at 8 o’clock.
